Funny you mention that…I was thinking that might be their toughest game in that stretch.
3 almost certain wins (lamar, sam houston, rice)
2 game that we can easily lose, but should be heavy favorites (boise and south carolina)
2 games that are 50/50 …bama and texas tech…both are like 10-12 deep in talent players “on paper” but we have an edge in that both are trying to add 7-8 new players in 1 offseason…they are talented but chemistry isnt instant …even bamas (last ooc) is less than 4 weeks into the season
if we are as good as i hope we are we should be 7-0, since we have the experience advantage

Seems like every time rice gets some good players they leave. They are in an impossible position.

Just got tickets to UH vs TT at the new Dickey’s Arena in Fort Worth. I will get to check it out before the AAC tourny plays there in Match.

ivy cancelling has ended up being a blessing for the aac, specifically temple… Dartmouth top guard had planned to transfer to temple in the summer but changed his mind last minute to go back to dartmouth…
becuase the ivies cancelled the season (people in the ivies saw this coming) he quietly enrolled at temple…
temple now has 1 notable guard …shoots 45% from 3

I don’t think the season is starting on the 25th. Lot of programs have had to shutdown over the last week.
It could be the opposite…it could be to loosen restrictions.
I think it’s 2 weeks isolation even from contact tracing… they think it’ll be impossible to have a season with those guidelines
A lot of coaches have been advocating for the 2 negatives a day apart rule…
It’ll be hard to delay the season 1 week before it starts … if anything it could be advocating for may madness, and give teams a month to make up games

True but I think they may have to push the date back to get everybody started on the same footing. May madness sounds more like a reality to build in makeup time.

I hope so. I seriously can’t wait for basketball season to start, but sounds like finding tickets might be tough this year. I would guess it would be televised on ESPN+
Tech is the only game where we MIGHT slip up, but being the Polly Prez, I am firmly in the 7-0 start camp!!!

you are selling boise, south carolina, and bama short…depending on the bracketologist there is someone who all 3 are seen as tournament teams

South Carolina had an extremely young team last year, returns 8 of the top 10 players, and add a former top 50 as a transfer. They were inconsistent but had upsets over virginia and kentucky, but blown out by us and wichita …some think theyll be really good now that theyre more mature

South Carolina had a very talented backcourt last season. We could overwhelm them with our D and take advantage of weak shooting.
They have an experienced team that has seen us so I expect a battle.
