NBA first round draft picks get a 4 yr contract, only the first two guaranteed. Years 3 and 4 are at the option of the team. Second-round draft picks and undrafted free agents can sign contracts that can be anything from one year to four years and that are either fully guaranteed or not guaranteed at all.
If Grant Nelson gets feedback that he will be drafted in the first round, it makes financial sense for him to stay in the draft.
Guess we were loftoned again
I would be upset if that happens but I’d be curious to see @Joprior23 and @bjjackson1988 slow descent to insanity after another year of @MRCoog bugging them about it and bringing it up every chance he gets.
Come on Butch!
Our expectations have gone crazy after just a few years of winning.
I like thinking we can win a title but after watching the Coogs over 60 years I’m just happy we are in the race.
I was there and not overly elated about our loss to Miami, but if we make it next year Lord willing I will be there.
Nobody in this world would love to see a Cougar national title than me, but I am old enough to know those banners don’t grow on trees or given as participant awards.
Otherwise Memphis would have a bunch lol
Not sure slow
We aren’t bringing in a center to compete with Francis He would have to be a true difference-maker which is why a stretch 4 is more likely in our cards.
They sure were pretty quiet, eh my italian beefcake!
Yes, UH being a national Top 10 program is absolutely phenomenal…given our history.
Since playing our games at Delmar back in the '60’s, we have come a long, long way…into the SWC era with that remarkable PSJ burst…to a virtually empty Hofheinz Pavilion in the CUSA era…to THIS! Being a Top 10 program in the Big 12 in the Fertitta Center!
And yet there are still those that want to complain. I guess the glass half-empty folks will never be happy!
We get our magic big man yet?
A familiar name entered the portal earlier this evening, per source: Seth Towns. Hasn't played since 2020-21 season with Ohio State, has missed three entire seasons with knee and back injuries over course of his career. First played college hoops in 2016 at Harvard. 2018 Ivy POY.

I just checked.
That guy was good by Ivy League standards.
But in his one season at Ohio State, he only averaged 3.8 PPG.
Does have two years of eligibility left as a 25 year old though.
Bugging me? Au contraire mon frère…
He was BLOCKED with a quickness. Is his still posting in here???
Nate
Towns would be interesting. This is would his 8th season. By the time the season rolls around, he would be 26 years old. CKS loves older players but I am not sure he had this in mind. Other than that,
I know nothing about this player and would welcome him if CKS wanted him.
I feel like the most likely scenario right now would be Kaluma.
Nelson had some good measurables at the combine. We’ll see how he does in the 5 on 5 scrimmages coming up.
I don’t see Kaluma going in the draft he’s for sure coming back to college.
Phillips could probably go either way.
But we all mention Phillips, Nelson, Kaluma. But there has to be one more that we don’t know of that the staff are going after.
The fact that Kaluma played with Tramon, Cryer, Lofton in high school is good. They’ve already seen him play and have a feel for his game.
I’ll take Kaluma, I’d probably go Nelson first choice but Kaluma is good and better than an open scholarship.
I’ll take Big East battle tested Kaluma over Nelson… But I’ll take either for sure!
