I guess we will have to revisit their stats at the end of next season to see if their success at Tulsa translated to the Big 12.
They were quality starting AAC receivers last year, and players typically get better the following season. They should be more than fine in reserve roles at UH.
The offense wasnât good last year and we saw multiple blow ups on the field by one of the guys leaving so he is gone lets move on. I like players that the coaches want and want to be here.
Fritz was in the AAC and therefore saw these guys on film more than most. He saw something he liked.
Fritz hasnât coached a single game and some of yâall are acting like the world is burning. have some faith goodness gracious
Fritz hasnât coached a single game and some of yâall think he walks on water.
This is the 8th time this century that we have hired the next guy that walks on water. As a juror, I am not all on board yet.
Gotta give him a few years. Every new coach, even Kelvin Sampson, is/was allowed to have a sucky team in Season One.
Thatâs how it will always be. You have to wait and see. But at the end of the day you have to trust the process. We beat our P4 schools for these guys. Thats what you want to happen. SoWhy is the first thing you say is that you would rather have a player that doesnât want to be here in Sam Brown.
Oh come on at least knock it down to 7, no one thought Major Applewhite was that good of a hire even when he took over.
Minor coach. MAJOR mistake!
While your hyperbole is cute, your lack of experience in and understanding of real athletics is transparent.
Uh oh. Charter and founding member of the CWF hate club.
No, just not drooling over his every move. I expect us to win 3-5 games. Also I donât see us better at any position over last year. Getting better, but arenât stacked with an area that is just popping out.
Debbie downers might have a better time over on texags. They are always in meltdown mode
OL and LB were the main areas that we lacked talent. It is not unreasonable to expect improvement in the other areas (and possibly those two as well) based on better coaching.
I expect linebacker and defensive back to be improved. Weâve brought in some good players plus we have Haulcy and Morris coming back. Tight end should be better. We got a potentially big-time dude in Malik Carr plus last yearâs starter returns. Running back could take a step forward simply because everyone is back. The offensive line is probably going to be average, at best. Defensive line ought to be pretty decent. Weâve signed several solid guys from the portal, and Holmes, Strong, Benton, and a few others are back.
??? We may have the best LB room in the conference now.
TE and DB should be improved rooms based upon who we return and who we brought in.
Possibly QB as well (I assume Smith will be better; a lot will depend on his rehab, and how quickly he adapts to the new offensive system in the Fall).
Other positionsâŠhmmmâŠI dunno.
LB. Brought in Kendre Gant, Corey Platt, Christian Brathwaite, Gave Peterson, and Michael Batton. 247 has both Platt (11) and Gant (18) as top 20 LB transfers overall. Bringing back Jamal Morris and Latreveon McCutchin. The room is crazy now.
RB gets better just because Fritz has shown he will ride his bell cow. So many games last year when Dana inexplicably went away from Parker Jenkins. First half of OSU. We were running them off of the field. Big reason for that was Parker Jenkins. And then he barely played in the second half. Bizarre. We also added Phat Burnette, 4 star freshman. And you bring back Mathis and Sneed.
OL is my biggest concern. Followed by what kind of jump can Donovan make.
Our schedule this year is significantly more difficult than last year. Taking over from a mostly incompetent staff and having to re-tool, re-infuse, re-educate, and re-inspire the team along with a more difficult schedule makes winning 3-5 games realistic. The difference between this year and the last few of the CDH tenure will be HOW the team looks doing it.
