Texans Football

We are arguing about the 7th rounds. Likely 7th rounders do not make it. The Texans know what Nelson can do since he played next door. No worries I wish that Nelson plays against the Texans and make his presence felt.

It would be nice if the Texans picked him up as a rotational player. However Nelson needs every chance he can get to start and heā€™s not uprooting Hunter or Anderson Jr. Heā€™s better off in Seattle at the moment.

Heā€™ll earn his way in the UFL eventually

Letā€™s all hope he does better and makes the nfl. He is a long shot but many wrote the same thing and he has over produced. I sure hope he does the same. We are pulling for you Nelson.

I still have JJā€™s jersey and would love to put on again for games. I donā€™t see it happening though.

I hope he doesnā€™t. He is right there with Earl as the greatest football player this city has ever seen.

I know most agree heā€™s past his prime, but JJ came back that would be nuts

I would feel bad for the 3rd or 4th stringer they would have to cut just to make room though

On the Mcafee show today, JJ said he would come back if he had a chance to do something heā€™s never done before, or something to that effect. That sounds like the Super Bowl. If he thinks they have a good chance, maybe he signs on.

Why do we think JJ will be a good if he just walks off the street?

He was clearly on the decline in Arizona and that was when he was in top ā€œfootball shapeā€.

He plays a very demanding position.

I hope he stays retired and preserves his legacy.

12.5 sacks in his last year may be a decline from his prime, but still in upper echelon of all players. I would welcome him if he is ok with being in a rotational role.

JJ ā€¦ā€¦stay retired.

You ainā€™t that guy anymore.

Funny that he can play a support role at the one position we didnā€™t address much in the offseason, interior DL. He could possibly give us 10-15 snaps/gm.

Much to my amazement, he started all 16 games and had 12.5 sacks. I do think he could help the team but only comes back if he thinks they have a shot at the SB.

Thereā€™s no downside at all to having that guy available to come off the bench. He doesnā€™t have to be the best in the league to be the best option off the bench.

He doesnā€™t need to be as good as he once was, just as good once as he ever was. :slightly_smiling_face:

leave JJ alone - heā€™s going through post-football withdrawals and need to stay relevant lol - first time he gets out there and gets pancaked on a crucial play will folks want to pull the plug

JJ says he been working out like he has when he was playing. I think he has enough gas in the tank to contribute as a role player and give the young guys some veteran tips he be like a player coach motivator.if It was anyone but JJ I take a hard pass He be a real asset to the team.

Yeah, heā€™s one of those guys that will either figure out how to compete or he just wonā€™t do it. Heā€™s not gonna go out there and struggle for mediocrity.

I would love to see J.J. back in uniform with Houston. Last year, he commented that he always wanted to wear the Columbia Blue uniform during his career. It may not be Columbia Blue, but if Demeco makes the call, JJ may get his chance this year to wear H-Town Blue.

If that happens, it will definitely make one of the top sports stories in Houston for 2024.
