It’s primarily corporate tents. If you are an individual and have the money to spend and have friends who won’t wig out at the last minute, why not?
We stayed on campus at the Hilton…the bookstore was closed all day Saturday!! Wanted to get some Coog gear but had to wait for game.
My buddy was wanting to buy something for his one year old daughter. I told him the tent usually has the most kids stuff, but I guess it was moved or removed. I’ve bought a ton of stuff out of that place.
No the bookstore at the rec center was open I walked over there around 3 , they have a nice game room in there with bowling alley’s, pool, ping pong etc
I think you meant the Student Center (former University Center) not the Rec and Wellness Center (the student gym).
Yes student center sorry
Yes, I bought stuff at Student Center Campus Store Saturday afternoon. I believe they will be open Saturdays on home gamedays 12 pm to 5pm.
I’d like it better if the announcer could pronounce names correctly.
New video board is legit and loud, looks great but I did not think it was to loud but we we’re midfield
Guess Pez was sold on doing it the Big 12 way as if that was magic. I thought that was pricey but it works at TCU and SMU. Not sure about pricing but you have to give $1000 or more to their CP equivalent for the right to get a tent.
$1000 for empty spot at SMU. ACC helps sell these.
A sister in law goes to Aggy games since both kids attend. I never hear about their tailgating. Just March in with ROTC and they’re in seats early.
My TDECU experience, Life Member tailgate was well attended, Nunez tried to fire up the crowd. Parking garage to seats very nice. Stadium is going to look terrific when done. Students were awesome, let them all in and fill the stadium with all who will come. Big change from my days at UH. Rice game will be in the shade as a 7:00 kick puts most of the stadium in the shade of the big board, breeze helped otherwise it would have been tough. Thought UNLV would cave in fourth from humidity, did not seem to slow them down, still they pulled the starters in the fourth. Still incredible to see how much the campus has changed since I graduated in '87, when the stadium, rail and Cullen are finished it should look great for the 100 celebration.
Couple of thoughts on TDECU:
- Loved the new scoreboard, and the volume of the speakers, I don’t understand the people that complain that they could not hold normal volume conversations with the people around them because of the noise… at a college football game.
- I sit in 131 and we went into the full shade of the Op center and scoreboard at 7:11
- Concessions were a little inconsistent with some have massive lines and others having no lines, we also discovered different prices for popcorn.
- It is inexcusable to have so many broken stall doors in the restrooms. On the northside at least 75% of the doors don’t lock, don’t closed or both. My son had some issues and I had to spend a fairly large amount of the game in the restroom and I got to hold several different stall doors closed. Also really hot in there, this is the only game I have ever made that complaint. Not sure why they have never had their maintenance department order some new partition hardware and re-adjust the partitions. I am assuming everything in the club works perfectly.
Really?
The bookstore posted that theyd be open from 12:00pm - 5:00pm for Game Day (last Saturday) on their Instagram page…what time did you try to go?
That’s awful, but not much worse than the game.
Hopefully that experience wasn’t related to the concessions.
But for real - if we’re not gonna fix the doors, we’re closer to the old Rice Stadium experience than what would be considered enjoyable.
I wish they’d figure out how to vent those restrooms better if we can’t spring for mini-splits or something. They’re not Robertson level saunas, but they get pretty hot.
I was able to get into the book store without any issue around 2:30 and pick up my order .
No my son was recovering from Pneumonia he had the week before, and the antibiotics they gave him did a number on his gut, but he was not missing the game.
It’s kind of shocking, the partitions as a whole are in great shape they just have a bunch of broken latches and need some adjustment, but they have been like that for YEARS. Literally $500 in parts and a day or two of labor fixes every stall in the building, but I get how it could be overlooked.
Luckily I didn’t have to point my toes toward the door at this game or I would’ve been irritated too. That is one of those things that is a cheap and easy fix.
Maybe send an email to the AD or whomever is in charge of game day facilities. They honestly might not know it’s an issue.
just give me a six pack of beer, i’ll show up with my drill, it’s not that complicated/costly to fix…like another poster said, bet the Suites are taken care of
