School Shooting in Georgia

The problem is that there is no solution because neither the right or left establishment want to fix the problem via compromise. Gun control is a voting mechanism for both parties.

Invest more in the police force to protect schools. Mandate metal detectors at all entrances. Mandate a federal law to reinforce all doorways with extra locking protection. Reinforce to children to never allow outside visitors to enter the school premises no matter what.

There are solutions, but the problem is the left doesn’t want anything that’s considered a compromise because it risks losing voters to the right, and the right constantly tries to reinforce how the left wants to threaten the second amendment full stop.

There are solutions. Politics gets in the way.

What a stupid thing to say.

Rap music was invented by the black community in New York City, largely because they had no other way to express their frustrations. And yes, capitalism allowed white record label executives to capitalize off of the black experience.

Comparing the US to other countries is a stupid argument to make because every country’s culture and history is unique to itself.

Every country imports our music. Our culture is our number one export.
What a stupid thing not to know

“Our music”

Delusional conspiracy level stuff there.

And logic error. On one hand you’re making this crazy premise “they know” (the rich ) and then you turnaround and say
“Americans refuse to ever believe this happens”

I throw out improvement suggestions in every one of these threads, every time this happens. None of them avoid taking away all guns or even assault style weapons from everyone.

And yet, the next thread comes and someone asks for them again as if they haven’t been discussed.

I also say it’s not about completely fixing the problem. That’s impossible. We can improve it though. We don’t not do things because you can’t completely fix it. That’s silly.

American music is our music

How is it a conspiracy? It’s literally happening as we speak.

The wealth gap between the rich and the poor (along with a stagnant middle class) is getting wider and wider to unsustainable levels.

Capitalism completely ignores externalities, including the climate. Earth will continue to experience more heat waves and natural disasters. The man-made altering of our ecosystems will have tremendous effects on multiple industries such as agriculture.

I’m not optimistic that we will curb climate change before the effects start to really happen. Too many people want to keep climbing the social ladder, and the wealthy do not want to compromise their privilege and comfort.

If we take away more power from people, one of them being the ability to purchase firearms including AR15s, then yes, it is something that the wealthy would not have to worry about if a time of civil crisis ever comes. Allowing the poor and middle class to purchase firearms, gives them some power.

I can’t take you seriously anymore

And as far as I remember, I agree with most of your solutions. But as I’ve said, neither the right or left establishment really want this issue fixed via compromise because it’s way to polarizing of an issue, where they will lose voters to the other side.

Kamala, Biden, Obama, etc
want to ban assault weapons. That’s never going to happen again and they know this. As far as red flag laws or increasing the age to purchase, I am in complete support of this. Georgia shooter was 14.

Trump, Bush, or any republican politician are major supporters of the second amendment (despite trump probably never firing anything more than a hunting rifle in his life) largely because of the NRA and other lobbies

It seems to me the right is far less likely to compromise in this situation. Some won’t give on anything due to how they view the second amendment.

I used to be further right on this issue but I just can’t be anymore based on what we keep seeing in our schools. I have an 8 and 10 year old so this issue really hits home with me.

It’s time for some common sense on this issue (and that doesn’t mean ban everything).

Lol, please explain? Go ahead

Similar here, 3 in age range 5-14. It’s hard to stomach the inaction and defeatist attitudes displayed by some here with wild
theories that guns are necessary for the poor to keep the rich in place. Dude should be writing fiction movies or has seen too many.

I respect that.

So I’ll ask you directly, music made in America by Americans is not American? What are you trying to tell me?

This is completely asinine.

It’s some of the more uninformed horse manure spread around. And we’ve had Firstie and Cali.

The Columbine shooting happened in 1999, and shocked the nation. School shootings were not something that happened or we worried about before then.

In 1994 Congress passed the assault weapons ban.

It was lifted in 2004.

Mass shootings quadrupled, after it was lifted but we will contine to offer up “thoughts, prayers and LOLs”

I have no desire to give mine back; my price would probably be too steep for the government.

Don’t know about school shootings, but school BOMBINGS definitely pre-date that by a wide margin.
