ONE bad year. With players he did not choose. At Mississippi State no less. Compared to what I have seen the last FIVE YEARS this guy gets a looonngg audition.
“A few other approaches of Barbary’s offense include reducing the split along the offensive line, bringing the tight end position back, and having the quarterback take the occasional snap from under center. “
As the founder of the global mega-church, “The Brotherhood of the Downhill Running Attack”
I support the use of the TE as much as possible.
Don’t really like reducing the split along the offensive line
UH has tight ends? Who knew?
What kind of QB is needed for Barbary’s offenses?
Is he a Leach air raid type guy?

He said in that old MSU story that it was gonna take time for the guys to digest his new scheme. I guess he didn’t have much time.
Yeah, I saw them holding those faux offensive plan signs…oh, and yes clipboards
From what I’ve seen he is not air raid and that may have lead to much of the MSU struggles.
All i want to know is if i have to pay for the coffee at the Holy Grounds if the worship team is still going
For a Barbary, I would guess the QB should be a pirate!
No, he’s not
A mixture of different sets would be okay….i think we can all agree the six splits were detrimental a time or two.
Is 32.8 pgg good enough in the Big 12? I’m genuinely asking y’all. I guess as long as it is not sloth offense, we’re starting at. a good place.
32.8 in the Sun Belt is probably 38.8 in the Big 12. They typically don’t get the kind of explosive athletes that UH and other Big 12 schools will have.
LOL!!
As long as the defense isn’t ‘belking it’ UH should be competitive.
Former Grambling quarterback
The SI article got me exited about the hire. Here are some quotes:
“Barbay’s new offense will not allow one player to remain stuck in one spot. It will allow for movement across the field for matchups.”
“Barbay has moved around MSU’s playmakers in formations with shifts and motions in order to create mismatches and advantageous situations against the defense.
“Back at Appalachian State, Barbay’s team ranked eighth nationally with 21 plays of 40 yards plus. The Mountaineers averaged 34.9 points per game, averaged 6.56 yards a play, and averaged 204.2 yards per game on the ground.”
Music to my ears!
