I think everyone understands the national average is just that. But the link I posted earlier gives .more than just the national average so that is why I didn’t understand what you were trying to get at.
I think it’s a “I don’t like the facts, so I’m going to try obfuscate the data” problem. “I feel it’s more dangerous with all the immigrants that are processed at the border. I’ve been told they are very bad people.”
Looking at GVA data, even though it’s only gun deaths, it seems to be inline with the government stats on violent crime.
And 2024 data from GVA comes in at 12,553. Seems inline with a decrease.

Oh, so when crime stats showed increases in crime during the 2 years of Biden’s term…they were “credible” enough to use as conservative talking points. But now that those same stats show dramatic improvement…they are not reliable.
Is that about right?
