We aren’t going to mars spending at current levels. It’s just not happening.
Spacex is doing impressive things but they can’t make miracles happen. You can hope for it but don’t hold your breath. It’s going to take massive funding from the US govt (they are already subsidizing spacex but not anywhere close to what’s needed).
In any case, you brought up the nasa example of going to the moon. Not me.

You come up with a given conclusion based on what was not what these companies are doing. That is the entire point of SpaceX and Blue Origin. They are redefining the space race.
It’s a dialogue. You can disagree but give me something to prove your point. You’re just criticizing what I bring (without really saying why other than what you hope happens) and then shut down.
I don’t expect miracles. Tell me why I’m wrong.
Because SpaceX has defied all odds. That is the entire reason why SpaceX even exists. Gotta agree on that…at least.

I will take Musk’s word for it. Nobody else even come close. That includes NASA. My father in law and wife worked for NASA.
That’s just hopes. There’s nothing backing it up.
And when did Musk say we’d be on Mars? And how much did he say we would need to spend to do it?
And btw, Musk promised humans would be on Mars by 2021 in 2011. He’s been known to exaggerate and be wrong.
Again I will take Musk’s words for it. He is delivering but you are going to argue with that too,. Keep your Musk hatred out. That might help see what SpaceX is doing,

My mind is open. But I need data and evidence to support an assertion. You haven’t provided any. You just say you believe musk. Well, he’s been wrong multiple times before. He sets huge goals that often times won’t be reached. I don’t blame him for doing so and get why he does it, but you can’t take all of them at face value.
There’s always some PUF money that could be available n send men to Mars. Just saying.
