Best of 7.
Herman took one of our most talented teams in 2016 capable of beating two top 5 programs with Heisman QBs and finished 7th in a bad conference.
The grand ending to 2017 almost never happened with a loss to one of the worst teams in the country in UCONN and one of the most fortunate finishes to Memphis.
Donât get me wrong, I loved 2015, but the 2016 season exposed who Herman was as a person and coach to the players and their families. Another season with him would have shown a complete collapse.
Had somewhat of an insider in 2016 1000% the team knew about Herman leaving prior to smu and were very upset
Iâm sick of people saying Herman won with Levines recruits. So what? Levine couldnât win with Levineâs recruits.
What you are missing is the pieces fell together on the defensive side for Orlando in 2015. We had no running game in 2015 and were very limited on on offense with Ward to save the day.
And again he won the first season and underachieved the 2nd.
Kenneth Farrow would disagree.
Levine was able to recruit all those great players because he leveraged the Big East despite it being a short-lived circumstance
Yes⊠everyone thought we were in a Power Conference and we technically were, for the first year.
That beat down @ Rutgers was still one of the best UH games ever
One of the strengths of the 2015 defense was a ball hawking secondary trained by the previous DC.
Blocking the downtown viewâŠ
I am with you, but at the same time the old gymnasium wasnt gonna cut it. I went to a football camp back in 2001 that gymnasium was so old.
The rankings reflect quarterback play. Just not a fan of running backs playing quarterback. They get hurt a lot and are not accurate passers. Greg Ward Jr was actually a good thrower, some exceptions of course.
You are only as good as your Quarterback. The difference between Herman and Levine was John OâKorn v Greg Ward. Levine made the wrong choice at QB.
But if you look at it from his perspective, JOK had QB skills and GWJ was the best athlete in the team and was a gifted receiver. So playing JOK at QB and GWJ at receiver had some logic to it.
Who knew that JOK just wasnât a very good QB on gameday. He was great in 7 on 7 but 11 on 11 he wasnât great. Not horrible but not great. GWJ was great.
Gang,
The news from Texas football doesnât get better.
They have our power ranking at the second worst among Texas FBS teams ahead of only UTEP.
We arenât going to be very good. We might border on awful. But for the first time IN A LONG time we are lead by a competent coach who wants to be here.
What sucks about football today is you canât look at the young players and project what they are going to be because who the hell knows if they will be here in two years.
Before we couldnât count on coaches being here now we canât count on players being here.
He probably would since he didnât play the back portion of that season. Ryan Jackson was taking the snaps and our best runs seem to come Kick 6 Wilson.
UhhhhhhâŠ
Farrow had 958 yards rushing and 12 rushing TDs, and 119 receiving yards; and started 11 games.
Add Wardâs 1154 rushing yards, and UH definitely had a VERY GOOD running game that year.
Thatâs not even counting rushing yardage from Wilson, Jackson, and others.
Had Farrow not missed a few games, then UH would surely have had TWO thousand yard rushers that season.
If that isnât a good running gameâŠthen I canât imagine what would be.
Some of you like to argue everything. Honestly with Farrow it was still a hit of miss running from the backfield because the OL was not steamrolling many teams. Without Farrow we had next to nothing from the RB position.
Yes as Captain Obvious says Ward was a dynamic athlete. His ability gave us something back there even if a majority of it was improv. Thank goodness for Ward in 2015
Farrowâs 26 touchdownâs in his final two seasons were something special. He is now the president of the UFPA, pretty remarkable.
Like they know a damn thing?? They spend every waking minute kissing the butt of aggie and whorn because THEY will buy thousands of their magsâŠDeliver me from every year they overrate them and underrate HoustonâŠOur first year in the SWC they picked us 7thâŠSomehow, their brilliant pick didnt keep us from going 10-2 and winning the SWC and the cotton BowlâŠAll that power ranking proves is how stupid they are!
