After the press conference, Willie told me they expect to start spring practice after Spring Break.
They want to find a way to incorporate the spring game and Frontier Fiesta.

If it was internal hire like Bell why not announce it Monday?
Takes a while to get through the approval process.
Money is tight so we have to count each penny at UH.
The buyout for Barbay’s contract was paid from outside sources. Who’s to say the incoming OC/DC won’t also receive some outside financing?

I didn’t realize they’d taken it out. Likely added by me and not Willie.
Could be State public employee rules for posting and hiring employees.

Willie made it seem like it was an outside person and the usual checks were being done. If it were internal, you wouldn’t wait til after signing day.

Looking at UH’s website, it looks like it’s back in there. It might have only been gone for like a year, or maybe it never was and I just for some reason got that impression.
