It's apparent now

If he gets credit for the defense then we need to drop the whole “what do you expect with 63 new players”narrative. If he can have success on defense with all these new guys than he has failed us on offense.

There are 3 parts of the team.

You have to play complementary football in all 3 phases to win.

Only having 1/3 operating doesn’t earn CWF praise when the other 2 parts are no shows

Defense and ST were fine today. The O is our big problem and Barbay isn’t the answer.

Well - my post specifically was about the historically bad offense.
However, sure - Willie gets “credit” for so far an above average, strong performing defense.
But, that is like saying an airline pilot is GREAT at take-offs but TERRIBLE at landing… to be successful and not crash the plane - a pilot needs to master take-offs and landings…
The complete failure to produce any offense - basically “zeros out” (no pun intended) the strong defense.

We didn’t attempt a FG bc CWF knew we didn’t have a huge shot at making it

I find it interesting that there are three parts to hiring/recruiting coaches/players. First, you have to find some that are available. Second, you have to decide if they are a fit. Third, they have to agree to move to Houston. You cannot just grab a coach nor a player.
