Bond would hand the ball over to freshman reliever Brayson Hurdman with two outs in the eighth, but Alabama State forced another pitching change and the Cougars went to junior Joey Pulido, who tossed the final 1.1 innings, allowing just one hit and one walk with three strikeouts to close it out.
