Hire Jimbo Fisher?

I’d say 30 years. I grew up there and witnessed 1st hand RC ERA.

The wrecking crew days were a site to see live!

Kyle field used to be the most intimidating place to play in the country. Now teams roll in there like app state and get victories!

Aggies. (Specifically the $$$$ billionaires) are the Aggies own worst nightmare!

Sound familiar Coog fans?!?!?

The Aggies main downfall is being obsessed with UT and trying to get a one up on them on everything while not forging their own identity.
Even their fight song is dedicated to hating on UT.

I really hope UH doesn’t try to tie our identity to hating another school.

That’s some endorsement.

Yeah, I don’t know why Kyle Field isn’t intimidating anymore. Since RC left, we’ve seen flashes from each coach but none could sustain success.

Fisher just isn’t cutout for the SEC. It’s just a different animal having to play LSU, Bama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Miss St, versus Wake Forest, BC, Clemson, Louisville, NC State, Maryland, and Syracuse (Atlantic Division up until 2020.

I think ATM should look for someone who’s come up through the ranks as an SEC coach. The dumbest thing they did (and our AD did as well) was give Fisher the extension after 2020. He’s owed $77mm after this season.

Honestly, you have no idea what you are talking about….the buyouts are not even close to the same.

And how dare you preach to this group about upping our donations……Most people on this board donate in some fashion……and I don’t recall getting an email asking me if I want to give a ridiculous extension when it wasn’t needed.

When Slocum was coaching the Aggies in the early 90s the SWC was awful. UT was down, Arkansas left, the rest of the teams sucked.

I’d rather have him than Dana but they can do better.

Let’s get something straight we don’t eat A&M leftovers. They eat ours.

Pollardsvision. I never said I was endorsing CDH, and I what I’m talking about is simple economics. Locked on Coogs did a really good podcast on this topic. There are a lot of things the buyout money could be spent on, which means it will have to come from the people who really care about the program and have been supporting it for years at the expense of other things we could have been spending money on. It seems there are a lot of posters who have no problem creating money that is not there or spending others.

Why can’t he just do his job? He knows how. Call someone or do something. 4 million to lose to Rice? What is going on?

Why do donors and long time Coog fans need to pony up the extra dough when we didn’t endorse the extension to begin with?

No rational business person/AD is going to extend a coach after one successful season (there’s an asterisk in there because the schedule was insanely soft) in 3 years of coaching. He had two years left on his contract after 2021 and was due to make 4.2mm and 4.3mm not including the Big 12 kicker and other incentives.

So I’ll ask again, why are we on the hook for a knee jerk decision by our AD?

Aggie’s AD made this is exact same mistake

I’m surprised UH did it, I would have assumed everyone learned form their mistake

Malzahn just signed an extension…

But is the money guaranteed no questions asked?

Geez you really went there, mentioning our Coogs with Bama?

I know Malzahn signed an extension and they are 0 and 3 in the conference. Cinci is 0 and 2, just like we are.
Looks like a lot of coaches that need to be fired.

I agree that we could be jumping the gun on this considering that no other new B12 program is having success. The fact remains that donors should not pony up extra money for a premature contract extension if Dana is ousted next year.

Hopefully, it’s other schools hating us…
