Game 21: #22 Texas Tech at #6 Houston (L 81-82 OT)

I thought this one was pretty funny. The last time we gave up 15 threes in a game, it was against Louisville, and James Dickey was our coach. I’m gonna go under on this guys prediction.

Not a chance the team is doing this - none.

Their Rivals site is the most active one. There’s a decent amount of respect for us and some thinking Tech will get whipped, but there’s a ton of disrespect for the offense and some for the team in general.

Here are the highlights:
J’wan’s offense is super-limited and has basically one move
Uzan is mediocre
Sharp is a below average defender with no offense off the dribble and isn’t a good guard,
Offense is hot garbage
Offense will be abysmal when it matters
Only win at home because the refs let them get away with murder
Haven’t played any good 3 pt shooting teams except Auburn/Alabama

Not that we need bulletin board material, but you know.

#1, I am glad this game is is Houston. #2 UH needs Sharp next month, maybe not this week. #3 UH can play TA and Wilson in Sharp’s spot and they both can be effective. #4 If UH takes this game lightly we could get whacked.

Wow the Sharp take is especially bad. He’s become a very good defender.

I would’ve thought Miami in the elite 8…

I think the second half against WV was a little wake up call.
Somehow TeeTee will have a nice crowd tomorrow and know how obnoxious their fans can be.
It’s not a trap game because TeeTee is good.
We will be fine.
Get there early and hopefully our students fill their sections.

TA can make them wish Sharp was playing.

$harp is better… but TA can go off, too.

My lame comment is about the block party being removed from the site…

I’ll put it like this… I feel good with either of them in the game.

Agree, but Sharp’s ability to get to the line is something we really miss when he’s not right.

I don’t think TA really has his feet under him yet. His injury was serious. For a lot of people, a ruptured Achilles is a career ender. Afterward a lot of guys have issues with trusting the repair and think about it a lot. Once they stop thinking about it so much they explode. TA is about to go crazy good.

There is a pop up shop at the garage stadium. I haven’t visited during the basketball games but I did the first time it was opened back up during one of the football games. Honestly, the item selection they had was not that great. It felt rushed, as if someone just grabbed whatever from the racks at the main campus bookstore and brought it to the shop. You’ll have a better selection at the stadium shop. Hopefully whoever is in charge of the inventory brings all the blue gear from the bookstore. The bookstore is your best bet but for some reason they don’t have it open for Saturday game days. Hope this helps.

lol Auburn sure, but Alabama? They shoot 33% from 3 on the season. We’ve played 11 teams that shoot it better than them

As good as Tech is, (and they are really good) I feel good about this game because we’re at home. If I were to nit pick something, it’s that we are changing things up and wearing a completely different uniform than we have during this winning streak. (I am not anti Houston Blue)

Texas Tech preview

Conference play stats

*LJ Cryer- shooting 35.4% overall (35 of 99) :eyes:

Thats gotta improve. Or we gotta run better sets for him.

*Milos Uzan- shooting 47.5% overall. That midrange floater he can go to. That LJ needs to develop

With Sharp banged up, we need Arc, Francis, Tugler to help score

*Tugler: 5.8ppg & 5.1 rebs
*Francis: 6.7ppg & 5.2 rebs
*Arcenaux: 5.8ppg, shooting 39.3% from 3pt
