Exactly!
Plus, Tulane is like Rice- you can only recruit academic superior athletes.
Tulane isn’t a LSU
No coincidence that a very rich school like Tulane is doing well in a post NIL world.
NIL will be the greatest thing to happen to college football. It creates so much more parity FOR those that are organized and hustle.
…Until the two super conferences put their foot down. Already we hear that the power conferences want to “separate” from the G5’s. It won’t take long after the acc implodes that the two super conferences will want to create their own “league”.
The ACC “imploding” is not much more likely than the Big12 imploding.
And the PAC might even be reincarnated with the addition of 8-10 teams from the MWC.
Three to four major acc programs want to bolt asap. This belongs in the never ending realignment thread.
And all of the Big12 teams also want to bolt asap… so what? And there’s this little thing called a grant of rights which all of them have signed…and which appears to be iron clad and cost prohibitive.
Very true…
It will be two P2 Conferences of 24 schools (divided into 2 12 school halves) for a total of 48 Power Schools
…and then the Big 12 and the ACC will be the new G Conferences and then a huge fall off of schools that can no longer keep up with this arms race.
We better pray to the gods that the B1G 10 wants a presence in Texas and the University of Houston is the best option on the board out of Texas Tech, TCU and us.
We have A LOT of work to do before that.!
Like I wrote this belongs in the realignment thread. Last point on my part FSU and Clemson have come out publicly that they want out ASAP and have put together an internal task force to make it happen. Let me know if you have seen/heard/read that BIG12 programs want out ASAP.
Wanting out and getting out are two entirely different things…task force or no task force…
Similarly, UH is forming a recruiting task force and is wanting some gifted current college FB players like QB Arch Manning at UT to transfer to UH.
Again though, wanting and getting are two entirely different things.
UH wanted “OUT” for 30 years.
Takes two to tango.
Neither the SEC or B1G deem they are that valuable to help them with their iron-clad GOR.
The difference is that those ACC programs have landing spots. But that doesn’t mean it’ll happen soon.
Wrong. Rice has enrolled several players in the past with low academics. My son played with one of them in HS and knew another. Maybe it’s changed, but in the past, they found a way to get them enrolled.
