Coach K out of retirement!

Our 2 tournament losses can be found at the FT line. We are prone to giving more fouls because of tough defense, but we can do better with our FT shooting. Auburn shot 53% from the field and killed us with points in the paint which has been out biggest weakness so far this year. Those two fixes and we’re unstoppable.

My exact feelings.

The team is a couple of free throws and a three or two from being 7-0.

I’d be concerned if we were getting run out of the gym or the effort was not there.

Neither is the case.

This is the type of team that will get better as the season moves forward.

Lmao, you make it sound like I personally attacked you or something.

It’s almost as though you were hoping we would lose and couldn’t wait to come to the board and post this……hhhmmm

I post whether we win or lose.

Why is it our jobs to do that? Isn’t that why we have the highly paid AD and his staff? Or, we can just outsource it to TF like we do everything else.

For some reason, our fans think CKS can do no wrong or immune to criticism after losses.

The problem is you have no perspective….plus you don’t know basketball so you shouldn’t try to criticize what you don’t know.

I play basketball a few times a week lol.

I supported the team when Penders and Dickey was the HC.

I don’t care that you play basketball a few times a week.

That does not mean you know the game.

The only criticism I have of CKS is that he needs to coach up a few other guys to the point where he feels comfortable having them on the floor.

The Houston Cougars play harder than any other team in the country….the intensity with which they play defense is second to none.

But we can not play 8 guys consistently and win against top notch competition.

We play atleast 10-11 guys against lesser competition.

IMO we need to get to a point where we can play 10 against the best teams.

We tire down the stretch when we only play 8 guys.
Coach has to get comfortable playing more guys.

If we can get to the point where we are playing 10 guy with just a minimal drop off or no drop off at all….we can win the NC.

You did nothing of the sort. I just don’t have respect for posters that whine about rubbish, speak in absolutes and then offer up no insight to back up said rubbish. Oh, I know! It’s because you CAN’T back it up because it’s impossible to do so when you utter total nonsense to begin with.

Btw…playing the game a few times a week doesn’t mean you know the game. For all we know, you probably don’t play at all and are just out there as a cheerleader supporting your supposed former DIII buddies.

…and claiming you know the game because you supported former bad coaches of this program makes no sense, either…but that’s par for the course for you anyway.

Hey, don’t drag DIII guys into this - they’re probably laughing at him too.

Well-played!

I am sorry but are you replying to me?

I agree with everything you wrote, and it is this tendency to tighten rotations that has killed us down the stretch in the tourney. That is why I called him the JVG of college basketball. The Tom Thibodeau of CBB would also work.

Agree. And I’ll add…also likely being the current top-ranked team in the polls given where we started in the polls, who lost and what 7-0 would mean with who we had defeated.

Just saying…only a few plays from being considered the team to beat.

Point is, while certainly not perfect, and definitely still having work to do, things would seem A LOT different. So even at 4-3, it’s not far off from being in the most enviable position (IMO).
