Not that Nagle’s abilities matter as he isn’t our OC. But I was just making the point about our current OC. He’s only our OC because of a lack of options at the time.
I knew where you were going with it …
You can’t be serious.
2019 - 30.1 ppg
2020 - 30 ppg
2021 - 35.2 ppg
2022 - 36.1 ppg
2023 - 23.7 ppg
2023 was obviously rough, but let’s stop with the crazy talk that our offense has sucked for years and this is why it sucks today. That’s not even remotely true and it’s the worst kind of excuse-making for this year’s team.
I’ll stand by that statement. I don’t know how many years you’ve watched a team mindlessly trying to run between the tackles to no avail and exactly where do those stats put UH nationally? How many special team points included there?
This teams biggest problem is QB play and DS is the best QB Holgerson brought in 5 years. I don’t think much more needs to said.
Whatever chief. I wish our offense sucked bad enough to score 30 ppg.
You can play the yeah-but game and go break down those scoring averages if you want, but you’re not going to prove that scoring 30+ ppg is evidence of an offense that “sucks.” That’s just nonsense.
As I said, if Miss. St. wanted to keep Barbay, they wouldn’t have put some of that SEC money into his pocket and he’d be calling plays for them instead of us.
Hire Graham Harrell as OC in Waiting. That’ll get Barbay looking over his shoulder all the time. Barbay will either pull it together or quit.
It makes sense that Miss St didn’t want to keep an OC with a different offensive scheme than the new HC hire. Doesn’t Jeff Lebby run the Briles offense?
Clayton Tune >>>>> DS and its not even close
I do realize you said “brought in” but still you cant diss CT like that
Fritz and Harrell are not in sync philosophically on offensive approach. I would be surprised if he came to Houston.
I’d take Clayton everyday of the week. He improved big time.
You have got to step back and see that our offense has the ability to make plays, they just got negated by penalties and fumbles, so the problem looks to be more players on the field. That int. in the end zone with a wide open WR was on the QB.
YouTube has a Barbay interview.
. He does not fill me with hope.
I see an OC who does not want to throw his team under the bus, but he is going to the well and the well is dry.
Why is this guy still here…
It kinda sounds like Barbay is asking himself the same question.
If he was like most coaches, he would say I can’t coach this *&%$
Play calling going forward will be Smith visualizing on the football and telling receivers you go 5 yards and slant in, you go run straight and rest of yall block.
Hopefully this simplies it for barbay
