Is Case still under contract or did it expire?
Im just throwing this out there. Since the Bills season has ended Case has been to multiple UH Basketball games now so looks like he has been around the campus a bit, and Keenum and Dana do have a friendship going back to when Dana was the OC and Case the QB at UH. Dana has always been highly spoken about Case especially about him getting a shot to be a starting QB in the NFL.
I answered my own question:
QB Case Keenum had contract restructured when traded to Buffalo Bills (usatoday.com)
From the article:
One curious aspect of the deal was Keenumâs contract. He was due around $6 million for the 2022 season, the final year of his contract he signed with the Browns.
But the Bills will not be paying that.
According to ESPNâs Field Yates, the team and 34-year-old agreed to a ârestructured deal as part of the trade.â
Instead of that prior total, Keenum will now make around $3.5M in 2022 in Buffalo.
So, he isnât under contract unless he gets extended. However, we donât have a clue as to what he wants to do if he retires from the NFL.
We may not have a clue to what Case wants to do, but Iâm damn sure CDH does. There is little to no chance that Case may be willing to coach here and CDH doesnât know.
Case is a free agent and is sure to get another deal from an NFL team.
If he had $6mm on last year of browns deal and he restructured with bills for less money, wouldnât that mean he would have more than one year at the lower amount. Iâm not a sports agent, but I couldnât see CK just giving up a couple milly heâs under contract for. Of course I could have some kind of blind spot on this
Case has made over $48 million dollars in his career so far. And he seems to have a few years to go. If I was him, I think Iâd enjoy my family and life rather than enter the coaching grind. But who knows?
I would not be surprised if Case would rather go into some kind of Christian ministry. He has been pretty active in that already.
I see Case more involved in coaching in the pros as NFL teams are starting to adopt spread offense schemes.
Maybe, but he and Kimberly may prefer to give their son a more stable life than that of a football coach which is usually a nomadic life.
I thought Jake would be call #1
scrantoncane: âI hope he brings WR Matthew golden with him. Kid is a stud in the making.â
This is my favorite quote from their message board. Golden turned down Texas to stay and play for his hometown team but he is now going to follow Dawson of all people to Miami? I think this guy thinks that they are the 2001 Hurricanes. lol
He should be seriously considered as our next coach. Break the proverbial bank. Donât care about the betting margin. Itâs time to win
Yeah Kingsbury would kill it in the B12. Woot.
13-35 record at Tx St, do we really want him??
You mean like all those championships he won at TT?
Thatâs a lot of copy for pure speculation
Iâd bet Spavital would back out on Cal for a warm six pack.
