Attendance

Rice’s MOB is like an old comedian telling mother-in-law jokes. The time has passed it by. The MOB’s gimmick is stale. The only reason Rice stays with the MOB is they can’t field a tradition show band that is big enough to be entertaining.

without millennials, TDECU doesnt get built and we stay stuck at 32k in Robertson…Art and KK started it, Case and Sumlin continued it

I was transferred to Austin in 1994.
My job was Mon thru Fri & 1/2 a day on Saturday.

I went crazy not getting to go to college football games after moving. UT hadn’t had a good football team in about 20 yrs.

UT had a setup with HEB in Austin to sell unsold UT football tickets for $5 at any store (I think starting on Friday sometime). They had HEB/UT radio ads each week marketing it. It helped attendance during lean years. Stopped after Mack Brown became head coach.

I’ve thought this would be a good setup for UH in Houston area HEBs until Fritz program gets up and running good. A loud crowd (whichever team) always makes for a better game experience.

I was at Costco today and saw displays for two tickets for something like $45. That’s around $20-25 per ticket. A far cry from $5

$5.00 was 30 yrs ago. So 1 ticket for $12.50 today is good. Costco is not the same as HEB. Radio ads on sports radio each week help remind people.

Pasadena rodeo is a $25 ticket.

Me too…

Maybe their support helps the team not be mediocre :man_shrugging:t2:

The old which came for first … culture building fan support or when they are entertaining and win fan support
