Not a PG, but Ollie Taylor, G/F at UH in the early 1970s, did the opening jump. He had an explosive jump.

The names that have been passed on to me the most are Dent and Yaxel. If we find ourselves needing to hit the portal for a PG and 4 man.

I have been singing this kid’s praises for a couple of years now
.I mentioned last week he had more bounce than just about any kid I have seen in 25 years of coaching.

Didn’t Deeky do that a few times or did I make that up?

Taze did, dont remember Deeky.

I would think a 6’3” PG at the 6A level jumping center is exceedingly rare. I remember CKS talking one time about how Francis is so bouncy he dunks on the way up. Flemings can too, but with a 6’3” frame. Ridiculous hops!

I am trying to remember the last nationally touted PG UH signed out of HS. Derrick Daniels from Ft. Worth Dunbar?

Nobody would draft Tugler right now. He just doesn’t have the skills yet. He can’t even stay in the game and makes dumb fouls (like at end of last game). He needs at least one more season. Big, strong, power forwards are everywhere. Just go to ESPN.com and review the NBA rosters, and see how big these players are
They are looking for skills. Jarace Walker, who left after freshman year, had more skills than Tugler.

That’s definitely false.

The espn top 100 lists Tugler at 50, ahead of JT Toppin of TTU at 59. It is not about college performance, but athleticism, measurements, and future development.

Yeah none of us are calling JoJo a lottery pick like Jarace. If JoJo has an outside shot he would be a lottery pick. But he got freakish measurables and a lot of untapped offensive game. That’s 2nd round type stuff, and if he shows out through March in the tourney he’s definitely getting drafted.

that same ESPN site released a mock draft 4 hours ago, and project him getting drafted.

players regularly get drafted on potential
Sidy Cissoko did 3pt per before getting drafted

I want to go see him play Bellaire. Know it’s at TSU but waiting for date and time.
From what I have seen and heard he might be Sampson’s most prized point guard recruit ever.
Can’t wait to see him in Coog red next year.
By the way, the greatest high school point guard I ever saw in person to date was Rob Williams.

Man I wish it was on television!

Is it not on NFHS network?

I know that’s not free, but if it is on there, you could sign up for one month then cancel.

Yes it is and you can sign for a month for $12.
That’s what I am going to do

Great. I’ll watch this one too. Probably later since I plan to attend the other big bracket 6a semi; Duncanville vs Allen.

FYI - I usually sign up for NFHS during football season, but then cancel around mid December.

This year, I just kept it active so i could watch my favorite teams and/or this certain SA Brennan player!

For anyone interested
Both big bracket 6a semifinal games might be worth watching. Brennan has not only Flemings, but another star player that has more of a Larry Bird style to his game. He was the reason Brennan defeated Allen in OT for Allen’s only loss. And Duncanville has a superstar worth watching too (Edwards) going up against a terrifc (balanced) Allen team (ranked maybe 6th or 7th in the country).
