I may be wrong but I think this is just showing he’s been accepted into the University for Academic status. If he decides to come to UH, I definitely can see him being a part Basketball program as a Manager etc. He’s quite bit smaller than his brother from pics I’ve seen of him. Either way the family is still very supportive of UH after Ryan eligibility has expired.
I met Ryan and his lil bro a couple years back at Pinks Pizza.
Just having another Elvin on the bench, even as a walk-on or as a student manager, is a lucky charm. Having an Elvin improves team chemistry and excites the fans.
Hey Jake, the men’s basketball team needs you.
Im sure he would love traveling w the Team even as a Manager, esp if his older Brother is still part of the program in some capacity
latest mock draft from ESPN.
it’s behind a paywall but they Have Tugler going #43 in the 2nd rd.
Interesting to note they have Johni Broome going 5 places lower at 48, even though he has a much more developed game.
Shows how much age is considered.
the athletic/Sam Vecenie just released theirs aswell jojo at 32
If Tugler was projected early 2nd round, would he leave?
My guess would be no, cause most likely thats lets send you down to the G-League type pick
he is leaving at the 32-43 range … while there is a possibility of gleague there’s also a possibility of major nba rookie contract and if you are at 32 you are being debated at 25… you wont know your exact number till the draft when its too late… early 2nd are debated for late first
Makes sense why im hearing lots of smoke about Koa Peat to Houston lately.
Tugler physical & athletic tools are off the charts besides height which is average for PF.
He gone. Its very rare to gain much ground by coming back. You dont have to prove progression, the only thing to prove is something people say you cant do, which he doesnt have (no missing tools). The risk of injury is higher than the chance of improved draft positioning.
To be clear, i mean tools he is supposed to already have at his age and position
Only thing he can improve is his jumpshot by getting reps in a gleague as a rookie or coming back to college to polish that part of his game.
It wouldn’t be unprecedented (JT Toppin similar player) during the NIL era especially one as strong as Houston and the culture they have established.
Jojo already missed a yr. If he’s healthy he’s coming out. He definitely could use another year because he has no offensive game. Not happening.
Not just age. Tugler has freakish measurables. And freakish athleticism.
at his current stock he is gone… but stock volatility goes both ways… if it drops he could come back
Everything is about potential. They can project what Jojo can be but we already can see what Broome is and they don’t think his skills translate to the NBA.
What does he look like as a pro? Is he a Jonathan Isaac type or is there a better mold?
that is a true center… in the pros he likely transitions to the 4… his early career will likely be development
the super dream is kawhi leonard, and to have similar offensive development (kawhi wasnt an offensive weapon when he 1st entered the league)… still ambitious but draymond is the lower tier, less offense .
and if the offense never comes, but he gains some muscle… i could see a ben Wallace type
This will be the key, unless the advice he gets is that he doesn’t have much to gain by returning. By NBA standards, he’s still going to be super-raw, but with tremendous upside. Sometimes the upside is more valuable than demonstrated skills.
My super dream is to date Mikey Madison the actress but i don’t see it happening!
