2025 Football Schedule

Kind of weird we didn’t play rice until 1971. Also that we haven’t played sfa since 1948

Rice felt we were below them and only started scheduling us when we started to dominate.

on the bright side, it is a night game, so that is awesome as it might be a couple of degrees cooler than a daytime game.

coogs shouldnt play night games until october, unless the coogs are cant miss football like the CK and KK days, heat will turn some off every year.

The earliest in the year we have played a home game before 6:00 since we joined the BIG12 is the UT game on Oct 21st and that is the only October game, the rest of the day games have been in November. It feels like the BIG12 and their TV partners actively try to follow that guideline, they too don’t want to have to go to day games in the Houston heat.

I’ve floated the idea of playing our September games in NRG. It’s just too dang hot for outdoor football in Texas in September. (And yes, that goes for other teams in the state, too; I’m skipping Auburn at A&M for the same reason.)

You’ll be there in about 4 hours, depending on traffic. It’s an easy drive.

I’ll be there, too. Headed over the mountains from Bend, OR.

Well it’s 1.5 to seattle, then a divide by zero amount of time to get past Tacoma, then under 4 from there.

Hopefully @Kyle_Be_Coogin will be moved by then and we can get a tailgate planned.

I need to go back to Bend, we really enjoyed it last time.

Looking forward to it. Would love to tailgate with some fellow Coogs.

Please no more NRG no game day atmosphere, the sound system sucks etc etc

The game day atmosphere sucks for our nonconference games anyway. Do you think TDECU will be shaking when we play SFA? Might as well be comfortable.

I’m planning on being at the OSU game this year.

Too hot for fans but no worries for players

Back in the day everyone down here played September games at night, because no one was foolish enough to even want to play in daytime. Thank television for demanding schools line up and play in the day during the hottest time of the year. We’ll see what our game times are in Sept and early October.

I remember a longtime ago( the 1990s) we always talked about the advantage of playing teams that didn’t know Houston’s heat, especially those OC opponents. Back then we wanted day games. Those tough 1990s

I remember the Vandy afternoon game in TDECU, their big guys were sucking wind.

Vandy was a night game - 6 PM kickoff.

Plus it was on Halloween so it wasn’t that hot.

I’m skipping all games at aTm this year, just like I have done since the last one I went to when we played there in the '60’s and won with a long TD pass play very late in the game.
