TCU, TT, ASU, and OSU are at the top. The grandstands are similar with some schools, like KSU, but UH is not elevating their program with the times. There is a lot more that goes into facilities than the facade of the buildings themselves. You need all of the toys and you need to implement them into your program. That is how kids learn nowadays and a kid will choose a school based upon facilities alone.
No, the grandstand is behind KSU. Iâm saying the rest of the facilities are just as good. And Techâs facility is about to open or are just opened, so itâs brand new.
Have you been to UHâs facilities? The locker room is nice. Probably needs to be updated. They have an upstairs where they could lift, pitch, and throw. However, they never use it. The only use it gets is for the high rollers to get drunk at the games. There is a training room but that is about it. The TT facility is going to blow UHâs out of the water. What do you mean by âthe grandstand is behind at KSU?â
When I look through this baseball practice facility gallery, they have everything that these other places have. The grand stand is what is behind these other facilities, including KSU. Tech just spent 12.5 million on theirs so of course theirs is shinier and better but this facility, which opened in 2020, is right there with these other ones.
Thanks for the pics, looks real nice to me!
Iâd like to buy a ticket for the pratice facility during a game or 2 and enjoy the benefits.
Problem for buying a season ticket there is you have to donate 6k
It does have a nice look, but those pics are an enigma. Again, the only thing they use that facility for is the locker room, and the upstairs for the big donors to drink during the game. Nothing else. They have a âSmart Moundâ in the upstairs that tells you a ton of information. Arkansas developed it. Havenât used it in 2 years. They donât even have any lanes to hit in. The locker room is the one thing that is really nice. And every school has a golf simulator. It serves no actual working purpose for the team to get better. They only time it gets used is to just throw a little bit if it is freezing outside.
And I promise you, if a recruit is looking at all of those schools, UH is not on the same plane as those other programs and it is not even close. No player is turning down those programs to go to UH because of their facilities. The only way they are getting a couple of kids, who have actually been offered by those schools, is because UH is close.
I donât think that is right. They are definitely more expensive but I didnât think you had to donate $6K. If that is correct, then that is ridiculous. Is it $6K per ticket?
I asked the ticket office and was told a 6k donation allows you to purchase a season ticket there. Now Idk if it costs 12k for 2 tickets.
I am sure itâs 6k and then probably another 700 or 1k for the ticket.
Itâs up to them how they use their space and equipment. But the facility is there.
I would hope so. That would be a crazy amount. Honestly, $6K for that product is a joke. I had a friend that checked into them at one of the games last year and they didnât say anything about the donation. I am sure the big wigs donât want any fans up there who arenât elite, so it does make sense.
And, no, UH does not have the facility to compete with the upper 3/4ths of the Big 12.
Here are TCUâs facility.
Other than maybe their weights are a tad nicer, I donât really see anything in there that UH doesnât have. Again, the grandstand is obviously behind.
Wishful thinking
I looked through that gallery and looked through UHâs.
