2024-25 Coaching Carousel Thread

To be fair, we had some high points in this program post-Sumlin

Gary Patterson headed to Baylor to be Senior Strategic Consultant. He finally came out of the woods.

Probably get paid enough to pay the property taxes on his house

Must have a really nice house.

Either way Aranda is on a short leash.

So part of Briles family now at TCU, and Gary Patterson now at Baylor. I have a headache

Next coach in waiting

Yeah, I think Aranda is on a very short leash next season. Hiring Patterson allows Baylor to make him Interm coach if they start off badly.

Patterson is a good coach and Baylor will benefit from having him. I thought he was not a good fit for what UH needed.

Good luck Coach Patterson.

I agree not a good fit.

Joins a “Power” school, honestly though, if BC started dominating I would love that

What the heck? He didn’t have any guaranteed $ left with UCLA?

WHAT?!

UCLA has bad NIL. Chip Kelly was having a horrible time recruiting for UCLA due to NIL and Big 10. I can see why he would take this job. Chip was on the hot seat at UCLA.

Chip does this 2 days after signing day and some on here slander kids for not having “loyalty” and accuse them of not understanding what commitment means lol

Curious if he is walking away from a fair amount of $. Also, Ryan Day’s seat isn’t exactly cool so it’s possible Chip’s looking for work anyway.

But still
he’d rather be an OC than a HC

Shame on OSU if they fire a coach who lost in the semis last year, and lost by 6 to Michigan the eventual national champion. To me, blue blood or not he shouldn’t be on the hot seat. Kelly has been trying to get out of UCLA since the season ended. Kelly was rumored to be in line for a few NFL OC jobs that didn’t come to fruition. Sometimes taking a pay cut is better than not being relevant.

Yeah it’s crazy but apparently losing to UM is a bigger deal to OSU fans than the CFP as wild as that sounds.
