Mylik Wilson was the leading rebounder for the Coogs
Like seeing Dunn still going 5/6 from the line despite off shooting. Tugler looks productive too
I just read that Paper City article on Sharp. Lots of angst by coaches and Sharp over his rebounding.
Well, one rebound in 20 minutes here. He might find himself in the doghouse.
Probably a lot less loose balls making it back to the guards playing against basically an NBA roster.
Not only that but Sharp only scored 6pts and he supposedly is working extra after practice on his shot. We gonna need another scorer besides LJ or it might be a long season. Roberts disappeared this game. You would expect more now for Roberts to be more aggressive on his game.
y’all notice how they let tugler get 7fouls in just 20 mins lol
Y’all reading too much into a exhibition against professional and superior opposition. lol I’m sure CKS isn’t pressed at all and is taking things in stride as he normally does.
Was just about to say that we had 18 and 19 year old underclass going against some of the best in the world. I would expect LJ to play the way he did same with Shead because they’re a little older. But there’s no reason to worry after this game. They’re not going to play well because they’re college kids
You are probably right but would still like to see Roberts take some shots. We gonna need something from him.
Anyone making any deal about these exhibitions is overthinking this.
This is just a great opportunity for the team to get a head start. This is extra practice time
time for me pull out my best spin king…
what positive we can tell from the scrimmage
-
lj will be our star- we knew that, this probably confirms it - while the hardcore fan might see this as jamals team, the general media will see its as LJs
-
mylik has earned him real rotation minutes in the last 3 scrimmages, his has outperfromed jamal, im not saying he should jump jamal, but you cant put him at the end of the bench… avering 1.5 blocks a game as pg… on real pt will be the best rebounding guard and by a margin
-
sharp isnt scared, you can just look at that box score and see when the beat down happened, many deferred, including some expected stars … he isnt scared of the moment… if we imagine this is just a cold shooting slump in a larger good efficent season, watch out … now imagine if this trip fuels him
-
dunn got to the free throw line and made it
-
a lot of offensive rebounds
No way coach starts Roberts and Francis together.
I dunno man… But coach philosophy just seems a bit different on how he constructed this year’s team by going smaller and maybe sacrificing a bit of defense for more offense. Comparing it to the last few years. I hope it works out!
I’ll take it. This team has 10 NBA players.
some fair critics … i knew we were going to lose pregame, so the point differential isnt a big deal to me
-
no jwan shooting…he took no shoots last year, took no shots at all, not even positioned himself for a 3 any scrimmage… but we are expecting that to be a part of our gameplan in a few weeks? (he didnt even take 1 shot, even 2s at all in 22mins of PT)
-
lived and died by the 3, looks like there was no attemt what so ever to attacked te paint (except mylik)
-
19 offensive rebounds to only 14 second chance points is terrible ratio
-
only lj had any remote offense, from the game notes we didnt score for the last amost 7 minutes of the game, im guessing lj was benched at that point
-
they destroyed us in points in the paint - this isnt a fair critiic, they could be just that good…but a note to make since there are questions of how we will handle teams with size
You know what sucks. We’re probably going to have LJ for one year only.
Francis being Francis. Two points, two rebounds and three fouls in 14 minutes.
Really surprised Roberts never shot the ball
@MRCoog this is his 4th year in college. Most guys that stay 5 yrs, it doesn’t look great unfortunately to scouts.
So, I do expect this to be LJs last collegiate yr.
Damian Dunn…TBD.
Do you read any of the pre game stuff or articles leading up to these games?
Lots of good information so you don’t say ridiculous things.
We’re all relieved now.
im actually not too worried about the loss of LJ…i think sharp is positioning himself to step right in at his rate of progress by this time next year… at this point last year most people didnt even want sharp in the line up (behind ramon and arc), he progressed drastically towards the enf of last year and has taken another step… by this point next year he’ll be a monster
