UH names basketball arena Fertitta Center

It must be remembered that we will finish up with an arena that will be 99% new; the place will be gutted and rebuilt. The only original thing that will remain is the basic enclosing structure - nothing else, and even that will have a completely new look.

I’m still waiting on the official renderings.

Here’s a “rendering” from the Big 12 presentation materials with a view from the loge box/club level. You can see the lower tier of student seats in red on the other side. Gives the dimensions of the videoboard.

Looks m’ehish. Are we still keeping those roach motel type of “luxury” boxes? Because it looks kinda like we are. Sorry so negative. Just never really liked hofheinz.

Is a lot more intimate and smaller. Love the idea of the student section being close to the court. Roof looks good and I love the big screen. I have heard that the attendance is somewhere around 8k.

Hunter told a basketball gathering it will be around 7200.

Don’t know who this outfit is, but a ship is a ship, right?

Believe they’re the folks that helped build/design the Fertitta Center. Believe this was a tourney for all the facilities they’ve had a hand in building. Our fans came through with the most retweets.

They like to buy up engineering firms. The big one that got them into the Houston market was Turner, Collie & Braden.
